Ministry in Action
Desiring to engage the community in meaningful ways, Mars Hill Church | Lake City kick-started Victory Sports to foster friendships, cultivate community, and create conversation. One does not need to be a church member to participate; church attendees, co-workers, local residents, and friends are all are welcome.
We encourage participants to investigate and apply spiritual truth while they enjoy sports activities. The goal of Mars Hill Sports is to foster the transformation of lives with the culture of sports while applying a three-fold process of outreach, fellowship, and training:
a) OUTREACH to the community, living as Mars Hill Church within the shared community of sports.
b) FELLOWSHIP opportunity in addition to MHC Community Groups for neighbors, co-workers and other friends to get connected and enrich each others’ lives.
c) TRAINING ground to surface potential leaders and coaches in our community and allowing leaders and mature members to pour into their lives.
Ephesians 4 says that we are called by God to cultivate the gift and abilities that He bestows… sports are just another joyous outlet to apply our time, treasures, and talents to live the mission of MHC and the great heart of our Lord Jesus. The competitive arena of MHS offers a place of worship for the athlete to offer their gifts, a community to nurture their talents, and a training ground for the abilities of future leaders.
