Planting Anchor Church
Our good friend and brother in Christ, Andrew Pack, is being called out to plant a church here in Seattle. We pray for many blessings for Andrew and Anchor Church as God works through this endeavor for His glory and kingdom. We will miss Andrew and his family at Lake City, but look forward to what God has planned for the seasons ahead for Anchor Church and the Gospel here in Seattle.
A message from Andrew Pack:
Planting new churches is one of the most effective ways of spreading The Gospel and seeing people become Christians. The Acts 29 Network exsists for this purpose, to train men to be Gospel preachers and to network churches both nationally and internationally for the common cause of The Kingdom. The vision for the network is to go from 213 churches today to 1000 in the next ten years. Jesus has called me to be a part of this, by planting a new church the in Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle this summer. I walked through the doors of Mars Hill as a non-Christian and this July I am being sent out, as a church planter. The only explanation for the radical transformation of my life is Jesus. It is an exciting time as I transition from my roll as the administrator of the Lake City Campus, following God’s call, to become the lead planter and preaching pastor of Anchor Church. Jesus has blessed my family and I greatly through the Mars Hill community, it has been a gift to be a part of this church and an honor to be sent out.
We are currently praying for people to join us in planting this new church. Next Wednesday, I will be laying out the vision for the community Jesus is bringing together and the city He has called us to serve. We will talk about what it looks like for Anchor to be on the ground in the Wallingford/Fremont/Phinney area and how we want to spread The Gospel here. Our hope is to be a Christ exalting, Jesus focused, Spirit lead, missional church, sent to Seattle. This meeting is for two kinds of people:
1) Those who are prayerfully considering joining this new gospel work and wanting to learn more
2) Those who care about church planting and would like to come out to support this new community.
We will gather for song, vision casting, Q&A, and prayer at 6:30pm on Wednesday June 24, at Emmanuel Bible Church (503 N 50th St, 98103) on Phinney Ridge. Coffee & snacks to follow.
