June marks the end of our current fiscal year. As we both look to what’s next and attend to the here and now, our end goal is to finish well.

From a budget standpoint, that means Mars Hill overall needs $743,333 between now and June 30 in order to meet our year’s giving target of just over $12 million.

I realize these large numbers may be difficult to conceptualize, so here are a few more stats to help explain how this applies to our campus:

Lake City, Seattle Giving Need

• Campus Giving Target for Current Fiscal Year = $701,751
• Actual Campus Giving to Date (July 08–June 14, 2009) = $663,866
• Giving Need for Our Campus Between Now and June 30 = $37,855

Lake City, Seattle Giving Trends (7/1/08–6/14/09)

• Total Giving Households = 310
• Avg. Monthly Giving Per Household = $194.68
• Median (Middle) Monthly Giving Per Household = $45.45

The median giving number means that more than half of everyone at Lake City gives less than fifty bucks a month or nothing at all. We have much room for growth when it comes to stewardship and spiritual maturity, and now is a great opportunity.

If every household within the Mars Hill family were to give an average of $200 this month, we would make budget. This may be too much for some, not enough for others. The point is, if all of us contribute we can unite as the body of Christ and finish strong together.
