Last year, we raised 40K with no major donors or singular large gift. This supplied Air Conditioning for our auditorium known for high temperatures and kept us hospitable. This year, we need to raise 300K to grow into the building we have been blessed with since fall 2007 and increase giving to cover our own expenses and be a blessing to others. We’re kicking this off with a worship and dedication event May 27.

Where we have been financially:

• We have been graciously subsidized by other campuses since our launch in fall 2007. About 50,000 dollars of our budget was subsidized by neighboring campuses in our region as we have grown into our facility and mission.
• We inherited our facility from Mars Hill general offices in summer 2007 with greatly reduced costs, as the loan had a grace period with a balloon payment due in 2009. In July, 1.2 million dollars is due as a note on the building.

Where we are going financially:

• We are growing into our general operating budget at the turn of the fiscal year July 1, 2009.
• Your local campus will not be significantly expanding ministry spending or staff in 2009, in light of local economy, growth and other concerns prompting wise stewardship and careful examination of every penny in the changing landscape. This is our commitment to the body.
• Mars Hill Church globally, apart from our campus, will be generously supplying 75% of the 1.2 million (900K) in light of its use as office space and their desire to see mission continue as a multi-campus church in the region.
• Mars Hill | Lake City needs to raise the additional 300K as quickly as possible to continue being a congregation on mission for Jesus. Donations and pledges will be taken at our WORSHIP & DEDICATION NIGHT MAY 7, 6.30pm.

What our congregation is going to do…

• Leaders lead by example and are praying over what we can give toward the 300K, cheerfully and sacrificially, and we need every member and committed attendee of Mars Hill | Lake City to do the same. This cannot be a reapportioning of weekly and monthly giving (that needs to stay strong and increase to match budget and growth) but above and beyond for God’s glory. Also, encourage one another and spur each other on to good works.
