Ever thought about getting involved with music at Mars Hill Church?  Do you play something more than Rock Band on your XBox 360? Looking for a way to use the musical gifts God has given you for His glory? Our Lake City Campus is looking for more help in this area as we hit the summer, as is the rest of our campuses in the area.

I caught up with veteran worship Pastor Tim Smith to find out about how our “Making the Band” event is going to help us surface this needed talent, and he gave me the following to post:

We currently have many musical needs within our existing campuses. With more on the horizon we are actively looking for worship pastors, band leaders, musicians, and Production/Recording operators.  Here are a few qualifications for service in each area:

Worship Pastor

•Biblically qualified elder (see 1 Tim 2:11-3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)

•Strong leader, comfortable with speaking and singing from the stage

•Musically gifted and capable of coordinating the vision administration and musical performance of multiple bands

•A passion and calling to lead others to deeper knowledge and experience of God through music and teaching

Band Leader

•Strong leader, comfortable with speaking and singing from the stage

•Musically gifted and capable of coordinating the vision administration and musical performance of a band

•A passion and calling to lead others to deeper knowledge and experience of God through music and teaching

Musician

•Humble servant

•Willing and able to lead people in worship by example

•Musically gifted

•Mars Hill Member

Production and Recording Operator

•   Humble Servants, Technologically Inclined

•   A love for music and desire to help support the Bands as an active member
