Single | Serving | SHARING
To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings. – 1 Corinthians 9
According to some statistics, less than 2% of professing believers actively share their faith. As a congregation named for a place the apostle Paul preached, this is not the heart of Mars Hill Church or the desire of your pastors. Our ongoing prayers are that our members will stab these startling statistics in the back through a heartfelt love for our city and a zealousness for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
When was the last time you shared your testimony with someone who didn’t know Jesus? Are you fearful to share your faith? Do you feel inadequate to articulate the gospel? Are you afraid you’ll screw it up, or drive someone further away? What’s keeping you from the heart of Paul that we see so passionate in scripture? We’re going to start this conversation with our singles community this Wednesday at the Lake City Campus. As students, career builders, or simply less home-bound individuals, single men and women have been incredible participants in the advance of the the gospel. Single | Serving is a monthly teaching we do for this important segment of our church; Christian singles from other campuses and the community are invited for fellowship, teaching, and discussion.
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord… but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began…
- 2 Timothy 1:8-9
