Praise God, You Turkey
We passed a year mark as a campus and congregation in October and we have a LOT to be thankful for. About 400 people gather with us on Sunday to worship God. We have 213 members committed to our mission, 274 people meeting during the week in Community Groups to grow together beyond Sunday services, and strong midweek gathering for supplemental teaching and training. Anecdotally, I get to hear stories from congregants of marriages being changed by Song of Songs, of lives being changed, of the gospel being shared, and Jesus’ name lifted high.
Although for some this season the chips may be down, layoffs may have occurred, or the election didn’t turn out the way you hoped. Still, we can rejoice that we have a good God who is in control of everything, that He gives us loving Christian family in addition to whatever blood ties comfort or vex us this season, and that by His grace the bleakest day here is endured in light of eternity.
Scott Philips reminded us of all the details of the pending holiday in his recent blog post. Join us this Wednesday, 6.30pm – 9pm, at our Thanksgiving Eve Service for praise, pontification, and pie, all pointing to Jesus who is the founder of (and reason for) our feasting. Bring your favorite pie to share.
