Early Thanksgiving Party for Singles This Weekend
James Rose is our coordinator for Single | Serving, our monthly teaching event for singles hosted at the Lake City Campus. James has plans to expand the ministry to include activities and a more holistic interaction. As many singles in Seattle are disconnected by distance or relationship from family (and they just like to party) he and his wife are opening their home this weekend. I caught up with James to see why they’re planning to let rowdy singles trash their home.
“My wife Julie and I are excited about hosting an Early Thanksgiving Party as an event for Single | Serving and we’re blessed to have the opportunity to serve in this ministry as part of the greater body of Christ. In the past, God gave me the opportunity to help launch a young adult ministry in my hometown, and now that we live in Seattle and are invested in Mars Hill, my wife and I are looking forward to seeing this ministry get off the ground and serving its members. We figured a good, natural way to do that is to host a party at our house in order to get to know people better.”
“I know what you’re thinking: with ravenous single guys on hand, will there be enough food? This will be a party where you’re allowed to go back for seconds. Julie and I are going to be cooking a huge turkey, so all we need is for you to bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish and drink to share. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for all that the Lord has blessed us with, so come join us in thanksgiving on November 15 at 6:00 pm for a night full of fun, fellowship, and good food.”
Parking is scarce, but the Roses live right next to Meadowbrook play field where there are a ton of parking spots. For directions and details, join the “Single | Serving” Group on our online network, The City (or email lakecity@marshillchurch.org).
