Real Men - The WOUNDS
Clint Eastwood, that paragon of Americana manliness, once said, “I tried being reasonable, I didn’t like it.” Real Men, a Praxis ministry of Mars Hill Lake City, is about Christian men being relevant in the world while remaining unreasonable to the sinful practices of culture.
The modern Christian man is viewed by society as a pansy, a pacifist, and a pushover. Abuse of such Scriptures as “turn the other cheek” has led to a pandemic relinquishing of man’s God-given roles as defenders and breadwinners.
What does it mean to be a godly man?
What does it mean to be a godly defender? A godly head?
These, and other, issues shall be explored by the men of Lake City as we continue with “Real Men: The Wounds.” Paul exhorted his friend and disciple, Timothy, to be a soldier spiritually well armed for Christ (Galatians 2:3); as men who fight, we get wounded. As we gather on Wednesday, November 5th 6:30pm, we will talk about how to deal with these wounds.
Bring your Bible, bring some food to share, and remember to bring humility as well.
And if you missed the jerky and Pringles from our first gathering, we won’t let you miss the real meat of the evening: tremendous teaching from Pastor James, and stories of how God sustained our brother John during his time as a soldier in Iraq. The audio from our first gathering, Real Men: The War, is in and you can get it here (right-click and choose “save as” to download) or press PLAY AUDIO to listen.
